Benazir Bhutto killed in suicide bomb
The Pakistani opposition leader, Benazir Bhutto has been assassinated. Police say an attacker fired shots at her, and then blew himself up as she left an election rally in
Miss Bhutto died in hospital from her injuries.
When the news was announced by party officials, her supporters began screaming and shouting, most of them distraught. Fifteen other people were killed in the attack, and bodies were strewn over the area.
It was the second attempt to assassinate Miss Bhutto since she returned from self-imposed exile in October: the rally welcoming her home was also attacked.
